How Robert served our clients

Founding partner of Houser Henry, Robert (Bob) Henry, was a trusted advisor to many of the firms clients on corporate transactions, the purchase and sale of assets, employment agreements, commercial real estate transactions, and business succession planning. He also advised high net worth business owners on estate planning and administration. With a gift for simplifying complex legal concepts for time-strapped business clients, he conveyed only what people needed to know in very accessible terms. The heritage of client care he established has become the DNA that drives the firm’s culture. As the deep relationships he forged endure, they remind us the importance of applying long-term thinking in everything we do.

Robert’s passion

Inspired by the courage and creativity of entrepreneurs, Bob was driven to successfully anticipate and solve their legal issues to empower them to grow and expand their businesses. He especially enjoyed connecting people within his vast network. Throughout his career, Bob built rewarding, life-long relationships with Canadian and European clients and fostered the careers of young lawyers, including his son Michael, who succeeded him as our Managing Partner in 2010.

Robert's story

After earning a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto, Bob entered law school and worked as a summer student at a predecessor firm to Houser Henry, where he learned from two of Canada’s top legal minds. After graduating from Osgoode Hall, Bob articled with our firm and helped to shape it into a thriving and respected business law practice. Bob was a member of the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada, and an active fundraiser for several local charities.

A personal perspective

Nothing meant more to Bob than time spent with his three children and their families, including his five grandchildren. He loved watching his kids succeed and travels with them and their families whenever possible. Bob also enjoyed British comedy, musical theatre, community involvement, and seeing the world.
