John’s skills are being enhanced by the mentorship of law veteran, John Gilgan.
How John serves our clients
John is a trusted advisor to condominium corporations and owners of commercial and industrial properties. He responds quickly to their needs and communicates often to keep them informed. John appreciates the need to identify and resolve issues before they become problems – his credo is never to let his clients get nervous or stressed.
John regularly advises boards of directors of condominium corporations on liens, alteration agreements, requisitioned meetings, as well as amendments to declarations, by-laws, and rules. He has also drafted status certificates in unique situations that require considered disclosure to prospective purchasers and mortgagees. John has chaired many smooth and productive AGMs. He leverages technology and fellow team members to contain costs and generate positive results for his clients.
A keen sports fan and passionate supporter of the Leafs for reasons we cannot understand, John expresses his enthusiasm for building client relationships through unique events such as the firm’s inaugural invitational hockey game, which has been adopted as an annual event.
John earned his BA with Distinction from the University of Western Ontario and his law degree from Osgoode Hall at York University. He is an Associate Developing Leader of the Greater Toronto Chapter of NAIOP (the Commercial Real Estate Development Association), and a member of the Canadian Condominium Institute, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Ontario Bar Association. John is also the firm’s lead contact for our membership in the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario.
A personal perspective
An avid traveller, John studied abroad for a semester at Stockholm University in Sweden. Coming from a family of lawyers, John feels literally right at home taking part in firm, client and trade events.
